About this gift

The Yoto Mini is the smaller more portable sibling of the Yoto Player - the same card-based screen-free audio system in a pocket-sized design built for little hands and on-the-go listening. It has up to 20 hours of battery life, ok-to-wake clock, Bluetooth connectivity and 16GB of storage, and fits easily into a child's bag for car journeys, flights and sleepovers. Everything the Yoto Player does in a more portable package at a lower price.

Why we chose it

Because for many families the Mini is actually the better choice - it's lighter, more portable, easier for younger children to carry, and the saving over the full Player leaves more room for cards. The 2024 edition has an updated battery design that resolved the earlier recall and it's the version we'd confidently recommend.

When to give it
A brilliant birthday or Christmas gift for ages 3-8, especially for a child who travels frequently or will use it mainly in their room. Works well as a first Yoto for a younger child, or as a travel companion for an older child who already has the full Player at home.
